Fuel Options

Capture offer biomass boilers which will run wood pellet, wood chip and logs.

Wood Pellet

Wood pellet is formed from untreated waste wood such as sawdust from joinery factories and sawmills, or energy crops.

It is the most energy dense and uniform type of biomass with calorific values of around 4.8kWh/kg, usually 6mm or 8mm with a moisture content of less than 10%. Pellet is a highly controllable fuel source, allowing high degrees of automation. It is possible to receive blown deliveries of pellet, in much the same way as tankers deliver heating oil.

Wood Chip
Woodchip can be formed from agricultural and forestry waste. It is a highly cost effective source of fuel, but it is important to ensure that size and moisture content are suitable for a particular woodchip boiler. High quality woodchip is available commercially and can offer an extremely rapid return on capital investment.

Logs
Logs, perhaps the best known source of biomass can be virtually free if you have your own supply.
