Low running costs: When delivering heat to an underfloor heating system at 35oC, a ground source heat pump from Capture is 400% efficient this means that for every 1 unit of electricity the unit consumes, it will deliver 4 units of heat to the property. Effectively this means your cost per unit of heat delivered to the property will be 25% of your unit price for electricity; on an economy ten tariff, this might be as low as 1.5p/kWh, compared to around 3p/kWh for mains gas (depending on your supplier and tariff). An Air source heat pump on underfloor heating, or a ground source heat pump on radiators will still achieve a co-efficient of performance of 3, so in many cases is still cheaper than mains gas.
Long design life: A ground source heat pump has a design life of 25 years plus.
No annual servicing:
Without the expense of annual servicing, lifetime ownership costs of a
heat pump compared to a conventional boiler are further reduced.
Grant eligible:
Both air and ground source heat pumps from Capture are fully certified
under the government and Energy Company grants schemes, depending on your
circumstances this can be anything from £900 upwards.
Reduced Carbon emissions:
A COP of 4 means reduced energy consumption, which means less carbon emissions.
As well as benefitting the environment, this can also help with planning
issues.
