Biomass

Biomass is a great heating solution for large or poorly insulated buildings, where mains gas is not available and the traditional solution would be an oil fired central heating system.
The advantages of biomass are clear:
-
It is renewable- we can always grow more trees. -
It is carbon neutral- the trees absorb as much carbon in their lifetime as they emit when they are burned.
-
At the moment, running costs of oil and biomass are comparative. However, wood pellets are likely to become cheaper in time, whereas oil is only likely to get more expensive.
-
If you have access to your own supply of wood, running costs can be virtually nil.
We offer biomass boilers running on either logs or pellets:
Logs
Obviously these kinds of boiler really come into their own if you can get your hands on free - or very cheap - logs. Some people are put off this kind of system by the thought of the labour involved, although for the most part our version requires only that logs be stacked into the boiler.
Pellets
These boilers tend to be the most popular of this type. Compared with oil-based systems their running costs are usually lower and are only likely to get cheaper as these systems become more popular.
Pellets offer an easy and highly automated way of using wood; clearly the quantities required will vary widely, according to the size and use of your home or business, and pellets can be delivered in amounts and at intervals which best suit both you and the system's demands.
