How much energy will solar heating save me?
for advice on how much you could save call 01209 716861

In average domestic situation you could expect to reduce your hot water bill by between 50% and 70% depending on how effectively you use the solar heating system.

Basic estimates for energy savings from a solar system are given here for a South facing installation in England. In our quotation to you we will provide an estimate for the amount of energy that the solar collector system is likely to produce in your individual situation.

A 4m2 solar collector system (2 flat plate collectors) connected to a 210L cylinder will save approximately 1,500 – 2,500kWh/annum.

6m2 of solar collectors (3 flat plate collectors) connected to a 300L cylinder will save approximately 3500 - 4500kWh/annum in a household of six people.

In a commercial installation where solar is being used to preheat large quantities of water, around 500 – 1000kWh/annum will be produced per square metre of solar panel in the array.
