How does the turbine cope with high winds?
Proven Energy turbines are designed to be used in any wind, even high winds (unlike large wind turbines which have to be feathered in high winds). The blades automatically twist as the wind speed increases, so that the surface area of the blade reduces and hence limits the rotor speed. The turbine effectively protects itself.

What warranty is provided with your turbines?
A 2 year manufactures’ warranty is provided with the turbines. To qualify for this a Proven Energy accredited installer (such as Capture) needs to service the turbine on an annual basis. We provide a 2 year warranty on our labour.

What is the life expectancy of a turbine?
The design life of a Proven Energy turbine is 25 years.

When there is a power cut will my wind turbine still produce electricity?
With a grid connected turbine system, in the event of a power cut the array will stop producing electricity. The reason for this is safety. If someone is working on repairing the local electric cables because of a line failure and your turbine system is pushing current along these cables then it can cause death to those working on the grid. Your inverters will automatically apply this protection.
